Barranquilla is set to shine again as the host city of Miss Universe Colombia 2026. From October 5 to 10, the Caribbean capital will once again welcome contestants from across the nation for a week of competition, culture, and community engagement before crowning Colombia’s representative to the global stage.
A Week of Glamour and Local Discovery
The official kickoff begins Monday, October 5, with the arrival of delegates in Barranquilla. Over five days, candidates will take part in rehearsals, media events, and social initiatives alongside city officials and the first lady, Katia Nule.
Beyond the runway, the agenda highlights Barranquilla’s urban transformation. Contestants will explore iconic sites such as the Gran Malecón, Ecoparque Ciénaga de Mallorquín, Puerto Mocho, and Luna del Río. These stops showcase the city’s evolving identity as a premier destination for entertainment and experiential travel.
Location and Tickets
The competition culminates on Saturday, October 10, with the grand coronation gala at Country Club – Salón Jumbo. There, the new Miss Universe Colombia 2026 will be crowned and prepare to represent her country at the 75th Miss Universe pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico, this November. Miss Universe Colombia is returning to its in-person format after Canal RCN did not renew its contract for the franchise, effectively ending the experimental reality-show format used in the previous season which was based in Bogotá.
Boosting Tourism and Local Economy
Hosting Miss Universe Colombia is more than a celebration of beauty—it’s a catalyst for economic growth. In 2024, the event drew more than 17,000 visitors to Barranquilla, filling hotels to near capacity and energizing restaurants, shops, and transport services.
Mayor Alejandro Char emphasized the city’s readiness to host major events that attract visitors and stimulate the economy. With strong hotel infrastructure, excellent connectivity, and a vibrant cultural calendar, Barranquilla continues to position itself as a top choice for national and international gatherings.
A Message of Unity
This year’s edition carries the theme “Colombia Unida,” promoting solidarity and collective strength. A portion of ticket sales will support families affected by recent earthquakes, reinforcing the pageant’s commitment to social responsibility.
For tourists, expats, and digital nomads in Colombia, Miss Universe Colombia offers a unique chance to experience Barranquilla’s energy, hospitality, and Caribbean charm firsthand.
