Barranquilla is celebrating October as Latin America’s month of fashion. This annual citywide event brings together top designers, brands, and trendsetters, making Barranquilla a global hub for the fashion industry.

Program Highlights

Barranquilla will host a lively lineup of events: outdoor fashion exhibits, runway shows by elite designers, a Latin American fashion congress, and a commercial fair for all audiences. The initiative, led by the city’s First Lady, Katia Nule, and managed by the Special Projects Office, aims to boost the local fashion sector and enhance creative innovation.

Barranquilla es Moda

“Barranquilla es Moda” is more than a showcase. It’s a strategic platform for economic development, nurturing local entrepreneurs and solidifying fashion as a key driver of transformation. The program supports both established and emerging designers as well as artisans using fashion to envision a brighter future.

Key Events

  • The Grand Malecón will feature the “Galería de la Moda,” displaying Kenn Kozz’s latest collection. After triumphing at New York Fashion Week, Kozz returns to his hometown to celebrate Barranquilla’s traditions. His 10-piece collection integrates colors, heritage, and the spirit of local dances such as cumbia and mapalé. The show, by the Sofía Vergara monument, is free to the public and will be held on Wednesday, October 1st.

  • From October 15 to 18, the IXEL MODA Latin American Fashion Congress at la Fábrica de Cultura will explore “Aesthetic-Ethics,” examining the balance between design, aesthetics, and responsibility.

  • On October 16 and 17, the Pabellón de Cristal hosts standout runway shows by designers like Beatriz Camacho, Lina Cantillo, and guest Venezuelan Efraín Mogollón, plus many local talents.

  • For the first time, the Barranquilla es Moda commercial fair runs October 24-26, with 50+ brands offering clothing, leather goods, beauty, household fashion, and accessories, all free to attend.

A Fashion Destination

With these inclusive and diverse activities, October cements Barranquilla’s place on Latin America’s fashion calendar, inviting everyone to shine with style.
