Colombia has a variety of cities, each offering different levels of quality of life. These include benefits, characteristics, and opportunities that make one more attractive than another for living and development. A recent study indicated which city is the best to live in, considering access to health, education and security. Which city tops the list?

The company Rankia led the research, conducting a survey on the quality of life for the How Are We Doing Cities Network (RCCV). The study found that Barranquilla has the best quality of life in the country.

To achieve these results, the following aspects were considered:

  • Economic issues
  • Health
  • Education
  • Housing
  • Public space
  • Security
  • Citizen participation
  • Public management

According to the study, Barranquilla ranked first as the city with the best quality of life, achieving a score of 36.3%.

Most respondents prioritized security and coexistence at 60%, employment at 51%, and mobility at 39%. These factors helped decide the best cities to live in in 2024.

However, considering that security is one of the most significant concerns for all citizens, a survey was conducted that analyzed various cities regarding the crime rate perception. In this context, Barranquilla saw a drop in its security perception, falling from 26% to just 9%.
