AmaWaterways has strengthened its presence in South America with the launch of the AmaMelodia, its second river cruise ship on Colombia’s Magdalena River. Officially debuting in October 2025, the vessel joins the AmaMagdalena to offer travelers a luxurious, eco-friendly way to explore Colombia’s vibrant waterways. The AmaMagdalena first set sail in April 2025.

A Boutique Cruise Experience

The AmaMelodia is an intimate ship designed for just 64 guests, ensuring personalized service and comfort. Staterooms range from 237 to 318 square feet, providing plenty of space to relax and enjoy panoramic river views. Guests can also unwind in the main restaurant, sun deck, or lounge after exploring Colombia’s historic river towns.

Reflecting local heritage, the AmaMelodia’s interior design features artwork by Colombian artists, celebrating the country’s culture through its décor and cuisine.

River Cruise Prices

The Magdalena River cruise will have a starting price of $4,500 USD per person, with an additional $200 for taxes and $125 for prepaid tips. The final price may increase depending on the cabin type and additional purchases, reaching up to $8,000 USD per person for the premium suite.

“This price might surprise many people, but it includes most of a person’s daily needs,” explained the cruise director, highlighting that the package covers all three meals and unlimited drinks.
