Barranquilla is set to host another thrilling “Carnival of Engines” from November 14 to 16, 2025. The 900-meter urban track at the Gran Malecón del Río will once again welcome the Rotax Max Challenge Colombia Karting Championship.
The city will become Colombia’s motorsport epicenter, reaffirming its role as a premier destination for sports and tourism. The Electrolit Caribbean Grand Prix will feature the only street kart circuit in the country, attracting thousands of spectators and international attention.
Organizers confirmed that the 900-meter track, used in 2024, meets global karting standards. With 12 turns and straightaways that allow speeds exceeding 115 km/h, it will test drivers’ skills and deliver high-speed excitement. Spectators can experience the adrenaline up close at the iconic Gran Malecón, one of Barranquilla’s most scenic locations.
Last year’s inaugural event left a major mark. It boosted the local economy, drew families and fans together, and strengthened tourism in the city. The success of 2024 set the foundation for a bigger, more impactful 2025 edition.
This year, 130 drivers from Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Chile, Canada, and Aruba are expected to compete, ensuring a strong international presence and competitive racing.
The championship will include categories for all ages — from Baby Max (4–8 years) to DD2 Super Master (42+). Each division showcases talent, passion, and the future of karting from multiple generations.
Beyond the thrill, racers compete for a coveted spot in the 2025 Rotax World Finals in Bahrain, held next to the Formula 1 circuit. With at least five Colombian drivers already qualified, Barranquilla’s Grand Prix is a crucial platform for national talent aiming for global recognition.
For three adrenaline-packed days, the Gran Malecón will echo with engines, cheers, and national pride as Barranquilla celebrates motorsport at its finest.
