Starting Sunday, October 27, 2024 Barranquilla is launching a sightseeing bus tour.

The first few trips will be free, but require prior registration.

Mayor Alejandro Char and his team conducted the pilot tour of Barranquilla’s District Tourist Route on October 20th.

“Very soon, Barranquilla’s first District Tourist Route will be up and running to showcase our city’s immense potential to the world. Today, we completed the pilot run of this route, which will initially operate for free every Sunday, starting from the Gran Malecón to connect locals and tourists to the city’s rich sports, cultural, historical, architectural, and developmental heritage. In short: you have to experience it! A registration link for the first tours will be made available,” Char announced.

The tour takes place on a bus, with strategic stops and a specialized guide to help participants enjoy the city’s most iconic sites.

“Every Sunday, starting from the Malecón and our Caimán, an electric bus will set off on a set route for visitors and locals, as well, to explore the cultural spaces of our great Malecón, Shakira, and of course, enter the city to see our sports venues, museums, Aduana, and more. It’s a way for Barranquilla to begin showcasing its powerful tourism potential to the world,” Char stated.

The mayor also announced that the first tours will be free.  By March double-decker buses will be available.
