Barranquilla es Moda (Barranquilla is Fashion) is a new government program from the District Mayor’s Office, which positions the fashion macro-sector as a strategic ally to stimulate the city’s business sector.

The 13th Annual Latin American Fashion Congress, organized by Ixel Moda, will be held in October in Barranquilla. The event is scheduled for October 23-25, featuring more than 20 speakers. The 2024 agenda will focus on the theme ‘Bio Re-Evolution’ and will include talks, commercial activations, networking opportunities, fashion runways, and a Fashion Fest.

Explora will showcase fashion and cultural experiences, from runways in Barranquilla’s iconic locations with internationally renowned designers to exhibits on ethical fashion, design, photography, craftsmanship, and an open-air museum where visitors can explore 100 years of fashion history in the host city. Barranquilla, as an air, sea, and river port, has been considered the gateway for this industry into Colombia.

Additionally, the District’s Special Projects Office will launch a civic campaign to educate Barranquilla residents on sustainable fashion and raise awareness about the importance of environmentally conscious consumption. To conclude this fantastic journey, a city tour will visit prestigious fashion houses and stores in Barranquilla.
