Fast Shipping, Local Entertainment, and Global Access: What Amazon Prime Offers in Colombia
Amazon Prime’s arrival in Colombia marks a new chapter for the country’s e-commerce and digital entertainment landscape. Until now, many Colombians used Amazon.com to shop internationally. But this marks the first time they can access a local Prime membership with all benefits bundled into a single subscription.
“We’re thrilled to bring Amazon Prime to Colombia, delivering our world-class shopping and entertainment benefits to Colombian customers,” said Jamil Ghani, Global Vice President of Amazon Prime.
Key membership benefits include:
- Free and fast international shipping: Millions of items from Amazon.com will arrive within five days at Colombian addresses, with no minimum purchase required.
- Prime Video: Members can enjoy global content and original series like Fallout, Air, or The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, as well as local productions like Betty la Fea: The Story Continues, Los Iniciados, and LOL: Last One Laughing Colombia.
- Exclusive deals: Members will get special discounts during events like Prime Day (July 2025) and Prime Big Deal Days.
- Prime Gaming: Members receive free in-game content and a monthly Twitch subscription at no additional cost.
“This launch reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment and outstanding value to our Colombian customers,” said María Isabel Figueroa, Head of Prime Video in Colombia.
Amazon Continues to Expand in Colombia
Amazon has steadily grown its presence in Colombia since 2018. The company operates a customer service center in Bogotá, a virtual office that supports remote work, and a new AWS data center launched in 2023. In just the past year, over 1,000 Colombian sellers exported their products via Amazon.com, and Amazon currently employs more than 2,500 people in the country.
Alongside Prime Video and AWS, the launch of this local Prime membership positions Colombia as a key market for Amazon’s expansion in Latin America.
