Amazon confirmed it will hold its first-ever Prime Day in Colombia from July 8 to 11, 2025, a shopping event exclusive to Amazon Prime members. For the first time, Colombians will officially participate in this event, gaining access to thousands of discounts across more than 35 product categories.
Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon Prime, said the company feels excited to launch Prime in Colombia, making it the 26th country to receive the membership. Colombia is also the first country where members can shop from the U.S. store with free international delivery and no minimum purchase, with orders arriving in about five days. Amazon Prime launched in Colombia on May 28, 2025.
Ghani emphasized that Colombians will also enjoy other benefits, such as Prime Video with Spanish-language content and Prime Gaming, which includes free games and Twitch channel subscriptions.
Regarding how Amazon has tailored Prime to the Colombian market, Ghani noted that many Colombians already frequently shop from the U.S. store, and this event enhances that habit. “This offer strengthens that behavior by removing the minimum purchase requirement, improving delivery speed, and offering Spanish-language content,” he explained.
He also said the company will continue to improve Amazon’s three pillars: selection, price, and convenience.
On the involvement of Colombian entrepreneurs in events like Prime Day, Ghani said Amazon collaborates with small and medium-sized businesses worldwide—including in Colombia—to help them sell globally through its platform.
According to company data, more than 1,000 Colombian sellers currently export their products via Amazon.
The event will last four days, which extends the usual two-day format Amazon has used in other countries. Promotions will go live at midnight and refresh every five minutes during select periods of the event.

When asked about expectations for Prime Day in Colombia, Ghani didn’t provide figures but said the company expects strong participation from both new and existing members based on its experience in other markets.
“Prime Day has consistently attracted new members in every market we’ve launched it in. We expect similar results in Colombia,” he said.
